March was a unique month! It started out with a Destination Imagination competition in Tri-Cities. Ashley is on the 5th grade team at her elementary school. They are the "Super Six." DI is a program where teams of kids have a STEAM challenge they choose and work on for a few months and then present. It is all student led and carried out. Adults supervise, but don't offer ideas or solutions. At the competition they present their practiced challenge and are also given an instant challenge--something they must solve in about 10 minutes. Ashley's team chose to do a photography challenge that included writing a script that had to have certain elements in it and acting it out. They did great! They placed 2nd out of 14 teams and were going to state until...COVID-19.
My kids have been out of school since March 16. More on how that has affected us in the next post, but we've been spending lots of time at home, and thankfully outdoors because we've had such nice weather. We've really enjoyed having church at home. We do primary with the kids after sacrament meeting and have enjoyed more family time talking walks and playing games.
