4th of July and Mount Lemmon

Our 4th of July started with our ward breakfast at the park.  We went and ate and the kids played and had fun.  We came home, debated going camping and decided to relax, swim and do fireworks this year.  The neighbors set off fireworks so we watched theirs and then did sparklers in our driveway.  John took William and Ashley to see the Marana fireworks and they watched from the parking lot of Wendy's (or Emma's as we call it now) eating Frosties.
William covering his ears.   Watching the neighbor's fireworks.
William had to cover one ear in case the sparkler made a  BOOM!
Then we decided to go camping on the 5th (we let the big rain storm pass first).  We went to Mount Lemmon and camped at about 6000 feet up.  It was beautiful and cool.  We set up camp and the kids had so much fun exploring and climbing all over the place.  We hiked down to a small fishing lake, annoyed some fishermen and hiked back to the campsite.  No fires were allowed so we retired to bed early with nothing to lite on fire and no s'mores to burn.  Maren didn't sleep well and in the middle of the night she woke us up and John and I lay there in fear that we were hearing a bear, but it was only the guy a few tents a way who snored ALL NIGHT.  GRRRRRR.
The lake is behind us, the trees are reflecting.  They aren't really upside down.
RRRR. Matey.  We hiked around the top of Mount Lemmon.  No battle droids were found.
That's Tucson behind us.

The next day we drove to the top of and hiked around Mount Lemmon.  It was a spectacular view and the weather couldn't have been better.  The kids had a good time and were sad we weren't camping another night, but we'll try again when Maren can sleep better in the night.
