We painted pumpkins this week and it was so much fun to watch the kids. They had a blast! I tried to capture the fun so you could see the stages of messiness. They both had a small pumpkin and paint brush to start with.

Ashley did very well dipping her paint brush in the paint and then putting it on her pumpkin. And she did it left handed.

William was very good at painting the top of his pumpkin and concentrated more on what he was doing.

Ashley added a little blue and red.

They would occasionally turn to each other and laugh. They had so much fun. William used just about all the colors he could and put them all on top of the pumpkin.

Ashley's beautiful hand. She kept touching the pumpkin where she'd painted and so she soon became colorful as well.

She even dipped her paint brush into the paint and put it in her mouth only to withdraw it quickly and make an icky face. But when she tried to wipe away the icky taste she only got more paint on her face.

Paint ended up in her hair as well!

Finished project! Both pumpkins are beautiful!

William was proud of his. Neither wanted to stop painting, but we need to save some paint for later. We took Ashley's pumpkin to Jodie-our friend in the nursing home-and she loved it. The kids had so much fun we will go to Safeway and get more pumpkins so they can do it again.
Looks like fun. Maybe I should let Jackson have a go at painting a pumpkin! Did you use special paint?
